Behrend was actually my secondary campus when I applied to Penn State. I was not offered admission to University Park and ended up here over the other schools I was accepted to. When I first came I was adamant that I was going to do the 2+2 plan and transfer to University Park, however, after my first semester I had already made so many friends and gotten so involved that Behrend had become my home and I decided to complete my degree here.
I have 3 main pieces of advise: 1. Get involved early (join Lion Ambassadors!). Join any club/organization that sounds interesting then figure out which ones you actually want to dedicate your time to. Clubs are a great way to meet people and gain life experience. 2. Utilize your RA. They obviously know a lot more about college life than you do and can be a great resource for when you have questions about anything and everything relating to college. 3. Academics come first and should always be the priority, but don't forget to live a little.
My most memorable Behrend experience would have to be calling the numbers for Midnight Bingo (hosted by Lion Ambassadors). Getting to interact with a crowd of a couple hundred people is absolutely electric.
My favorite place on campus would have to be the Reed Union Building. There is always something to do or people to talk to.
