I chose Penn State Behrend...

When it came time to apply for college, it was an easy choice for me. I chose Penn State Behrend for its strong reputation in the Polymer Engineering field. In addition, with the small class sizes, I am able to know my professors, and they know me. I am proud of the education I am receiving at Behrend.

My most memorable Behrend experience...

I have lots of great experiences at Behrend, but my most memorable experiences were the opportunities I have had to be a part of Welcome Week. For the past two years, I have been a member of this fun group who spends the week before classes start in the Fall welcoming incoming Freshmen to campus. From helping them unload their cars and move into their dorms to participating in many social activities with them, it's a great way to meet the Freshman and help them feel welcomed right away.

My favorite location on campus is...

I love the small campus setting with state of the art labs and equipment. My favorite location on campus is the Polymer Lab. This is where I can put what I am learning to use and see the results of my work being developed.

Advice I would give to incoming students is...

The most important advice I received as an incoming student was to ask for help. Ask your professors. Ask your classmates. There is always someone willing to help you. It has proved to be true and has been a key part of my academic success. So, my advice is the same. Never be embarrassed to ask someone for their help. We can all learn from each other.
